You can check out items from the Library's General Collections (but not Reserves, Laptops, or Group Study Rooms) with a picture ID if you forgot your Osprey1Card.  You are allowed to do this once in a 12 month period.

  1. Why are you denied access to the library without your Osprey1 card but you can check out a book without it. You’d need to be allowed in the library without your card first in order to even check out the book. The policy of not allowing students access to the library without an Osprey1 card on them seems unfair. They should be allowed access with their N# if they can check out a book with just an N#.

  2. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Due to Covid-19 restrictions and the fact that students were not allowed in the library without their Osprey1Card, these requirements made no-card transactions a moot point. Osprey1Cards are still required to gain access to the building, however, recently we have loosened the Covid-19 restrictions to make rare exceptions when someone has forgotten their Osprey1Card. Per the UNF student code of conduct, students are required to carry their student identification card on them while on campus. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
