All new subscribers should be directed to accessnyt.com to register for an academic pass to our NYT subscription program. Users should type accessnyt.com which resolves to https://www.nytimes.com/activate-access/edu-access

Please ensure you don’t enter https:// before accessnyt, you will encounter a security message if you do. Subscribers working remotely should disconnect from the school's VPN before visiting accessnyt.com.

On the site, subscribers type in the school name and follow the instructions.  Please click here to view the access walkthrough video that helps subscribers activate their academic passes, newsletters, and mobile devices.

Also, The New York Times has advised that new users should avoid using the Google Chrome browser to sign up for an account. Google Chrome generates multiple security errors that users cannot bypass. Users should sign up for a New York Times account with one of the following browsers:

  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Safari (on Mac devices)
